Leos

Let's face it...we ain't gettin' no younger, right?   We all know there will come a time when we just can't do the things we used to do.  Maybe this is happening in your club now.  Can you lift things now that you used once could?  Can you stand on your feet as long as you used to?  What are some of the things your club is doing to "replenish" and "cycle" in new, younger members?  (Now I'm not saying that we won't take a "seasoned" new member...because more members equals more hands...which turns in to better service for your community)
Leo Club members are a great way to supplement and work with your Lions Club members.  And think of all the great things your members can teach them about our giving spirit.  So many times in today's world I see the younger people with a "I deserve this" attitude.  It's the society we live in.  But everywhere you look there are also teens who want to make a difference.  You see them helping an older person cross the street.  You see them in Church youth groups.  You see them being tutors and giving of their own time to help other students who may be struggling.
Why not tap into the younger population in your communities who want to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate?
The Lower Paxton Twp Lions Club is looking to sponsor a Leo club in our community.  We decided to go with a community-based club vs. a school-based club so that we can have more hands on interaction with the youth of our community.  We are holding our first of 4 informational meetings this evening at the East Shore Library in Colonial Park from 6:15 - 8:15.  All local high school students and their parents are welcome to attend.
Volunteering, in my opinion, is contagious.  When others see you doing something good, they will want to do something good also.

LEOS AND LIONS WORKING TOGETHER CAN CHANGE THE WORLD.

Consider sponsoring a Leo Club this year.  Cherish the history of your Lions Club and plan for the future.  Replenish your membership!!!  (And remember, Leos have parents/guardians who can become Lions as well! - There's nothing like a family working together...just ask me)
